I’ve posted a new version of FY 1.07in the box to your left, to fix a problem arisen by Baris today. The new version is compatible with ongoing games.

A TOAW III scenario of the RCW was released a few months ago. Never played that game so cannot comment, but the notes may be interesting to read.
Thanks. Going to download it and try it! It will remind me ten years ago when I did a few scenario for TOAW ( the TOAW current version is much better). It seems to be a well-informed scenario on the RCW, even if I’m disagreeing here and there on a few points ( like the impossibility to build more armored trains, as Reds built around 120 during the war, at Bryansk mainly). AI seems not to be expected serious opponent and, from my TOAW experience, indeed the TOAW AI can’t cope with multinational conflicts well. Now, TOAW is simulating some military features better than the AGE engine. In any case, it shows there’s a real wargaming interest in RCW.
AI in TOAW III can get better with new 3.4 scripts maybe. And with Clovis mod it can be all better. I like that game alot but lacking some hierarchy in command structure. By better military features you mean table of equipment?
Front. Hexes. Even far from perfect, disengagement losses. Armored effects. Possibility to model surprise effects.
That game has full potential for scenario design. Surprise effects should definetely needed in RUS. but why do you prefer hexes?
Oh I guess for 6 entrance to any region I understand.
I should have precised for XXth Century wargames. They are more convenient for front, then for portraying weak points in a line. They are better suited for getting right movement rate and allowance. Before, regions are good.

I intend to start a test game of FY 1.07 later today, for the first time ever playing the Siberian Whites. (I expect to be lost.) Bug-wise and otherwise, anything special I should be on the lookout for?
(And, oh, BTW: It’s harder to keep track of new posts and developing message threads here at Modder Corner; easier IMO at the Matrix Forum. Just sayin’.)

I plan to use more Matrix forum next week if this version is free of major bugs.
For the rest, anything is worth to be pointed out ;-). What you don’t understand matters too, as I need to upgrade in game texts for better description.
Um, I started my proposed Siberian Whites game and … was overwhelmed. Too many choices! :p
I’m not up to the challenge of playing the Siberian Whites. I don’t know the game well enough yet. So, it’s back to playing the Southern Whites for now. The Siberian Whites can wait.
