That’s unfortunately just a war which has erupted between 2 players. Joke aside, the interesting point of the thread, as the 2 sides are doing deep and smart remarks, is this exchange is just pointing out how the PON AI is just a little more than nothing: either unable to play the game, or worse built to allow in some way the player to play…

And it gives too some hint about the new moderation policy on the board. Frankly, threatening immediately 2 of the most active posters on PON of temporary banishment is in some way delivering a very real message….The more days are passing, the more I’m happy  to have resigned from this board.

Here I stand ;-)

The Matrixgames forum

Posted: January 8, 2012 in Rus Mod

This is the second home of Fatal Years, and a very convenient way to discuss the mod.

If you want to discuss and help Fatal Years, just come to the Matrix board:

BTW, the more the forum will be animated, the more you give a chance to other players to discover Fatal years and get the same pleasure you’re enjoying. Be generous :-)

The Red AI move of the day (2)

Posted: January 8, 2012 in Uncategorized

Nothing spectacular, but a new example of a multipronged advance, with a move on the rear…Not that bad for an AI.

This large battle has been rather bloody, but the number of units destroyed remains low.

One effcet of the mod is to transform battles against garrison in cities in several days fight. That’s unavoidable, because garrisonsbeing fixed they can’ t retreat, and after each side has recovered sufficient cohesion, they resume the fight a few days later. It may sometimes seem strange when the odds are very unequal, but most often, it adds in my opinion a flavour of urban combat, which is always longer ans sporadic than in open field. Eevn a very small garrison may puta prolonged urban guerilla fight against a very large froce, which can’t use its numerical superiority to its best. Think Stalingrad

AI and Generals

IN Fatal Years, AI has the possibility to get promoted Genrals: here in February 19, 3 stars Vatsetis on the Volga front. BTW, Red AI has captured Samara a few months ago.

My PBEMs

Posted: January 8, 2012 in Rus Mod

I’ve got 5 replies to my offering of PBEM, sufficiently to wage 3 wars, with 2 3 players PBEM, and 1 2 players PBEM.As much I know, only one, Baris, is willing to play with the cohesion mod.

Please PM me or reply here to sort the whole thing. :-)

remember: design only games you want to play! My case.

General Rodzianko

Posted: January 8, 2012 in Rus Mod

To reply to a question I’ve been asked, General Rodzianko took command of White forces in Baltic in May 1919. So the presence of this General in the 1.04 official version of RUS is erroneous.

BTW, he was a relative of the last president of the Tzarist Duma.

News

The Sunday update of FY will be delayed for a few hours, at worst tomorrow, because of RL constraints. It will  fix a few bugs, which are minor and will come under 2  forms, one based on the cohesion mod, and the second without. Of course, this update will be compatible with ongoing games.

FY 1.07 is always under work and should come at the end of this month, featuring mainly new factions and a refreshment of the Polish faction.

I’ve run today agelint on the last AACW version. Now FY will require me less time, I hope to achieve SVF 2.0.
EDIT:

Last point: if SVF 2.0 is coming from age, I owe this to all who have helped me for FY. Without you, FY would yet be more a project than a playable version :-) . Who knows, I would have even maybe left the moding field.
